Candidates who spent the most money on their campaigns also led the field in votes as results for the Dallas mayoral race began trickling in Saturday. Former construction company executive Tom Leppert drew more than a quarter of the votes and appeared likely headed to a June 16 runoff against District 3 City Council member Ed Oakley, who captured 20.6 percent of the votes, with almost all precincts reporting.
